Courteney Cox
Friends co-star Courteney Cox is a natural beauty. However, as Cox grew up before our eyes, so did her reliance on cosmetic surgeries. The now 57-year-old actress explains how over-using filler and botox resulted in her not recognizing herself.
Courteney describes the surgery snowball effect – “The next thing you know, you’re layered and layered and layered. You have no idea because it’s gradual until you go, ‘Oh, this doesn’t look right.’” After taking a hard look at herself in 2017, Cox decided to dissolve all her injectables.
Victoria ‘Posh’ Beckham
Victoria Beckham — a.k.a Posh Spice — may not be British royalty, but she and her famous former footballer husband, David Beckham, are fan favorites. However, Posh got herself into hot water after she publicly denied ever having surgery, despite admitting to a regretful boob job years before.
Then in 2017, the fashion designer came clean to British Vogue, saying, “All those years I denied it – stupid. A sign of insecurity. Just celebrate what you’ve got.”
Mickey Rourke
Philip Andre ‘Mickey’ Rourke is an actor and former boxer who became a Hollywood household name in the ‘80s. However, Rourke’s face has changed over the years due to boxing injuries and failed corrective surgeries.
The 69-year-old actor admitted to Daily Mail, “Most of it was to mend the mess of my face because of the boxing, but I went to the wrong guy to put my face back together.” He went to such extremes that they took cartilage from his ear to try to fix his nose.
Kylie Jenner
Reality star and makeup mogul Kylie Jenner has been the topic of plastic surgery rumors since her teenage years. While many suspected the then 15-year-old had plumped up her lips, she denied it and emphasized the power of lipliner.
However, the 24-year-old mother of two has since come out and owned her plump pout. She even confessed that she went overboard with the lip filler and has since toned it down. Jenner jokingly told Allure, “Thank God I didn’t end up on Botched.”
Sharon Osbourne
TV personality, Sharon Osbourne, is certainly not afraid to go under the knife. However, after undergoing a five-hour facelift surgery in late 2021, Osbourne was left scarred (literally and figuratively).
She admitted to The Sunday Times that “it hurt like hell,” and she was left “feeling horrendous” and looking like a “Cyclops.” Luckily, her face has since healed and she’s ready to get back onscreen for her new chat show on TalkTV.
Linda Evangelista
Linda Evangelista is a ‘90s supermodel. Despite being widely known for her good looks, a botched surgery left the model unrecognizable. Linda underwent cool-sculpting that caused her face to multiply in fat cells.
This sent the former model into a five-year “cycle of deep depression, profound sadness, and the lowest depths of self-loathing,” according to her. She bravely took to Instagram to explain, “I would like to walk out my door with my head held high, despite not looking like myself any longer.”
Janice Dickinson
Janice Dickinson dons herself as the world’s first supermodel. And while that title is still in dispute, the rumors of her cosmetic procedures are not. Dickinson revealed that she underwent several surgeries — including breast enlargement, tummy tuck, neck and face-lifts, and liposuction.
After the former model was diagnosed with breast cancer, she got candid with Entertainment Tonight, admitting, “If I had to play my life over again, I would have never gotten breast implants in the first place.”
Khloé Kardashian – First Confession
The Kardashians are no strangers to cosmetic procedure rumors and it seems Khloé is not afraid to own it. After younger sister Kylie admitted to overdoing it with fillers, Khloé jumped on the regret train too.
When asked about face fillers, Khloé admitted, “It did not work for me. I looked crazy, and I still think the effects are in there — I went to have it all dissolved like three times.” Good on her for being so honest!
Heidi Montag
You might know Heidi Montag from the original reality series The Hills. If you’re struggling to recognize her, that’s because the TV personality went on to have 10 plastic surgery procedures.
From enlarging her breasts to lifting her eyebrows, Montag has been very open about going overboard. She told Life & Style that “people have fewer scars from car accidents than I have on my body.” Let’s hope she realizes her beauty and stays far away from the operating table.
K. Michelle
R&B singer K. Michelle has been open about her plans to remove her butt implants. In an interview with YouTuber B.Scott, Michelle admitted that “for me, I want my normal shape back.”
She continued, “For me, and my career right now, and me doing business — like really being on the frontline in business…” The singer decided to get the silicone injections into her derriere six years ago, believing it would help elevate her music career.
Priscilla Presley
As the former wife of Elvis Presley, Priscilla has been in the spotlight for many years. With that kind of exposure, many celebrities turn to cosmetic surgeries. Unfortunately, some turned to the wrong doctor to undergo their procedures.
Presley was among a few famous faces who were reportedly treated by unlicensed doctor Daniel Serrano. He used low-grade silicone, which is similar to what mechanics use to grease cars. That does not sound right!
Kenny Rogers
In 2006, singer Kenny Rogers decided to undergo cosmetic eye surgery. He told The Huffington Post that he decided to go forward with the surgery after noticing how lined his face was becoming. Sadly, the surgery didn’t go according to plan.
Rogers was left with a botched eyelid lift, which reportedly drove him crazy and left him in despair. He has since claimed to have reconstructive surgery. When plastic surgeon Dr. Youn was asked about Rogers’ new face, he replied, “Kenny Rogers gambled with plastic surgery — and lost!”
Joan Rivers
The late Joan Rivers was adored for her sense of humor, brutal honesty — and, of course, her copious cosmetic surgeries. In fact, when one thinks of celebrities with a lot of plastic surgery, Rivers was often first on that list.
Her daughter, Melissa, even wrote in her memoir that the comedian underwent 348 procedures in her lifetime. The younger Rivers admitted that Joan would get surgery to make up for feeling “less than” about herself. Despite that sad truth, Joan would always make light of her overdone face.
Jennifer Grey
Just like Julia Roberts is known for her lips and Cindy Crawford for her mole, Jennifer Grey was recognized for her nose. Despite that, she chose to undergo rhinoplasty, and unfortunately, she wasn’t left with great results.
In 2012, the actress told The Mirror, “I went into the operating room a celebrity and came out anonymous. It was the nose job from hell. I’ll always be this once-famous actress nobody recognizes because of a nose job.”
Crystal Hefner
Crystal Harris Hefner is a former Playboy model who became famous after getting married to the late founder, Hugh Hefner. Before Hefner’s passing in 2017, Crystal had already undergone a breast implant removal surgery.
The model had this to say about her plans to remove everything ‘fake’ from her body – “I am more authentic, vulnerable, and feel that I belong more to myself. I am mine.” As of 2022, she took to Instagram to celebrate officially being free of implants and fillers.
Simon Cowell
Simon Cowell is well known for being the toughest critic on talent shows like America’s Got Talent and X-Factor. And as it turns out, the uber-successful media personality is also harsh with himself. Earlier this year, Cowell revealed to The Sun that he overused botox and filler to the point where he didn’t recognize himself.
He confessed to looking “like something out of a horror film,” due to the anti-aging treatments. After taking a hard look at himself, Cowell decided to remove everything ‘fake’ from his face.
Khloé Kardashian — Second Confession
Khloé Kardashian is loved for her witty and truthful personality. So, it isn’t so surprising to hear that she isn’t as tight-lipped as her famous sisters when it comes to plastic surgery.
While promoting the family’s new show on Hulu, the reality star opened up to ABC News anchor Robin Roberts about her rhinoplasty. She admitted to being scared at first to go under the knife but she’s happy with the result. She added, “My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner.”
Bella Hadid
Like many top supermodels out there, Bella Hadid has been the source of many plastic surgery rumors. While she does still deny having had an eye lift surgery, she recently opened up to Vogue magazine about another procedure.
Hadid now admits that she underwent a nose job at the young age of 14. The supermodel now regrets having undergone that surgery, adding, “I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors.”
Carmen Electra
Carmen Electra became an overnight star for her role in Baywatch, and that image of her in a red full-piece is still iconic to this day. Despite her natural beauty, Electra admits to making enhancements to her body.
Back in 2010, she told Fabulous magazine that she decided to get breast implants. However, the surgery ended up being a regret for her when she went from a 32B to a DD. The actress added, “I didn’t want to go as big as that.”
Jamie Lee Curtis
Actress Jamie Lee Curtis is celebrated for her stance against plastic surgery. When speaking on British talk show Lorraine, she said, “I have been an advocate for natural beauty for a long time, mostly because I’ve had the trial and error of the other part.”
Curtis has admitted to getting liposuction, filler, and botox in the past. However, she believes it didn’t work for her, and the actress now proudly ages naturally. What are your thoughts on her change in opinion?
Jessica Simpson — First Confession
Jessica Simpson faced life-threatening complications after undergoing a partial tummy tuck in 2015. The singer was celebrating her 35th birthday when she decided to go through with the surgery, despite her doctor’s warning.
Simpson has since opened up about the horrible situation, recounting, “I got an infection — colitis — and was vomiting so much I thought I was going to bust my sutures.” The mother of three regrets putting her life at risk for the price of beauty and is now against the procedure.
Iggy Azalea
Rapper Iggy Azalea is no stranger to public scrutiny. And while she’s very happy with her looks today, she has come clean about certain regrets. The Australian-born celebrity admitted that she sometimes thinks she went too far by having a rhinoplasty.
She explains that the procedure wasn’t “worth the backlash” that she later received on social media. However, Azalea is very open about loving the results of her breast augmentation.
Kim Kardashian
While it’s clear that the ever-beautiful Kim K. has done some touching up to her face, that doesn’t mean to say that she hasn’t faced any complications. Back in season five of her hit show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the media mogul tried botox for the first time.
She was left badly bruised and quickly regretted the needlework. After the episode aired, Kardashian spoke out, saying, “Botox just wasn’t necessary for me at this age.”
Gwyneth Paltrow
Paltrow may be a health advocate, that doesn’t mean she’s against in anti-wrinkle treatments. However, after botox didn’t work for her, she has since found a new way to remain youthful. Though, at one point, the actress compared her overdone face to that of Joan Rivers.
While Paltrow no longer uses botox, she has been very open about Xeomin, an alternative injectable that she’s now a spokesperson for. When asked about her journey with cosmetic surgery, she mentioned, “By getting injectables, it’s like admitting a vulnerability.”
Melissa Gilbert
From child star to becoming the president of the Screen Actors Guild, this redheaded beauty is no stranger to the spotlight. Gilbert has since admitted on her blog that she underwent a breast enhancement procedure that left her unhappy.
She wrote, “I am concerned for my health and I don’t like the way they look or feel. Frankly, I’d like to be able to take a Zumba class without the fear that I’ll end up with two black eyes.” Melissa has since had her implants removed.
Lisa Rinna
Lisa Rinna is known for her big mouth… We mean lips. Okay, maybe she’s known for both, right? And as it turns out, the reality star once injected her lips with silicone — but her plastic surgery story doesn’t end there.
Rinna admitted to removing as many of the implants as possible because they changed over time. She said, “It got to the point where they were yucky. You know, they get hard. It’s gross.” We can’t say for certain that her lips are now ‘au naturale.’
Morgan Stewart
The Rich Kids of Beverly Hills alum and E! host has generally been candid with the work she’s had done. However, after a botched lip plump, the media personality made the executive decision to stop with lip filler.
Stewart has since publicly said, “Ummmmmm why I ever thought putting […] in my lips was a good idea is insane. My right upper lip STILL has a ball in it. The moral of the story here — think twice before undergoing these transformative procedures.
Jessica Simpson — Second Confession
Before Simpson underwent a botched tummy tuck, she tried her hand at another procedure that didn’t agree with her. The singer and businesswoman told Glamour back in 2006 that she regretted doing lip filler.
She admitted, “I had that Restylane stuff. It looked fake to me. I didn’t like that. But… it went away in, like, four months. My lips are back to what they were. Thank God!” Sounds like that was the beginning and end of her journey with lip filler.
Amy Childs
This British media personality hasn’t been shy when it comes to admitting what work she’s had done. Childs told the hosts at ITV’s This Morning that she “got addicted” to undergoing cosmetic procedures.
The redhead is said to have had multiple cheek and lip filler enhancements, as well as a breast enlargement that left her feeling weird about herself. She responded, “I don’t want to have them in anymore.”
Katie Price
Price is another English media personality who is known for her overdone look. It’s estimated that Katie, dubbed the ‘surgery queen,’ has undergone 24 boob jobs and at least three lipo procedures and facelifts.
Price told The Sun about a terrible experience she had after traveling to Turkey to undergo full-body liposuction, facelifts, and more. She said the surgeries left her looking “like a monster out of a horror movie.”
Molly-Mae Hague
Molly-Mae is a well-known influencer and TV personality who has accomplished a lot at the age of 22. So, it may not be that surprising to hear that she started dabbling with cosmetic procedures at 17 years old.
Molly-Mae has since spoken out about overdoing it with lip and chin filler to the point where she was nearly unrecognizable. And in 2020, the Pretty Little Thing Creative Director decided to remove her “mistakes” and go back to her natural self.
Tara Reid
American Pie actress and girl-next-door Tara Reid revealed that a botched 2004 surgery negatively affected her career. The now 46-year-old was left with a hernia and uneven breasts after a body contouring procedure went horribly wrong.
Reid told US Weekly, “My stomach became the most ripply, bulgy thing. As a result, I couldn’t wear a bikini. I lost a lot of work.” The actress has since had corrective surgery and we doubt she’s willing to go under the knife any time soon.
Leslie Ash
Leslie Ash was labeled ‘trout pout’ after she had her lips filled with silicone. It sure does make us wonder if she went with Lisa Rinna to the plastic surgeon’s office…
Jokes aside, Ash unfortunately went to the wrong doctor who used industrial filler, which disturbed her muscles. She told This Morning that did have corrective surgery to help improve her smile. However, they weren’t able to fully remove the chemical.
Chloe Ferry
Chloe Ferry has changed a lot since she first appeared on Geordie Shore back in 2015. The reality star has undergone multiple cosmetic procedures — including two nose jobs, a boob job, an eye lift, and botox.
There’s one more surgery on Ferry’s list that she has undergone – a $61,000 procedure to make her stomach look more defined. She has now admitted that she “didn’t need” the latter surgery and sees it as a “mistake” that she has learned from.
Dana Delany
Desperate Housewives alum Dana Delany was all for her anti-wrinkle injections until one botox application into her forehead left her with a hematoma. The actress confessed, “The nerve has been dead ever since.”
She continued, “It affected the muscle in my right eye, so my eye has started to droop a little bit.” After that unfortunate stint, Delany vowed never to use botox again. It’s becoming clear that one botched surgery is enough to scare us all off!
Ashley Tisdale
Ashley Tisdale had gotten breast implants, which she later removed as she worked on her overall self-esteem. “Prior to the surgery, I constantly felt my body was less than, and thought this change would make me feel more whole and more secure about myself. And for a short period of time…it did.”
The actress says that she suffered some health issues, which she believes were due to the implants. She says she feels much better now that they’re out.
Ayesha Curry
After having her second baby, Ayesha Curry seemed to have suffered from feeling like her body wasn’t her own (this is extremely common for women who’ve just given birth). This experience led her to make the “rash” decision to get breast implants. Sadly, the surgery had some complications and Ayesha was unhappy with the final result.
According to Curry, “They weren’t good to me, they didn’t work for me, they work for some people, but they’ve got to go. And I don’t ever want to see them again.”
Britney Spears
Britney Spears has gotten several injections in her face and while she says she regrets it, she doesn’t seem to regret it so deeply that she’ll never do it again. The pop star has stated that she’s considering getting more injections but isn’t sure, since it hasn’t worked for her in the past.
“The last time I did it my eyebrow was raised like the funny girl in the movie Just Go With It! Sounds funny but it actually wasn’t.” Only time will tell if Britney decides to quit injections altogether.
Cameron Diaz
Cameron Diaz got injections in her face, only once, but regretted it and swears that she’ll never do it again. The actress says that it was too jarring for her to see herself so differently after the procedure.
“It changed my face in such a weird way that I was like, ‘No, I don’t want to [be] like [that]’… I’d rather see my face aging than a face that doesn’t belong to me at all.”
Anna Faris
Anna Faris has admitted to two separate procedures but only regrets one of them. She’s still pleased with her breast augmentation, to this day, and has no plans to undo it. However, the actress says that she regrets ever messing with lip fillers.
Anna claims that her friends warned her she’d overdone it with her lips and they were getting too big. She’s since “weaned” herself off of them. She concludes that lip fillers were “definitely not the right choice.”
Reid Ewing
Reid Ewing (of Modern Family fame) suffered from body dysmorphia, which led him to a series of cosmetic procedures — all of which he regrets. The very first procedure that started it all was cheek implants.
“It’s a horrible hobby, and it will eat away at you until you have lost all self-esteem and joy. I wish I could go back and undo all the surgeries. Now I can see that I was fine to begin with and didn’t need the surgeries after all.”
Tori Spelling
Tori Spelling deeply regrets her breast augmentation and believes that she was far too young when she got the procedure. She’s now an advocate for young people to do more research before going through cosmetic procedures.
She also calls on doctors to give more information and make sure that their clients truly understand the side effects. “Well, I got my boobs done in my early 20s and if I had known it would or could possibly impact the production of milk, I would never have had them done.”
Chrissy Teigen
Chrissy Teigen had her breast implants removed. She didn’t regret the way her implants looked (she actually says that they were “great”). However, she wants to set a different example for her children.
“You can’t set these expectations for people that everything is perfect […] It’s not fair and it makes you jealous of other people’s bodies. It’s lying to people by omission. But also, while you want to teach your kids to be comfortable in their own skin, you want to tell them everything you can and let them decide.”
Gisele Bündchen
Gisele Bündchen got breast augmentation surgery after she finished breastfeeding her kids. The supermodel felt insecure about her chest due to the fact that her assets were uneven by the time her kids switched to bottles.
However, she says that she regretted the decision pretty much immediately. “When I woke up, I was like, ‘What have I done?’ I felt like I was living in a body I didn’t recognize. For the first year, I wore [baggy] clothes because I felt uncomfortable.”
Heather Morris
Heather Morris (most famous for her role in Glee) says that, as a little girl, she’s always wanted breast implants. However, she grew out of them with time and came to regret her initial decision.
“[They] were something I thought I wanted when I was younger, and now I don’t. It was hard being active with them because my chest was always sore. It hurt a lot, and I didn’t like always being in pain, so they had to go!”
Adrienne Bailon
This former Cheetah Girl has been in the spotlight since a very young age. After her breakout role with the Disney franchise, she started dating Rob Kardashian and was featured in early episodes of KUWTK.
That intense amount of publicity is enough to make anyone doubt themselves. Bailon got candid about her breast enlargement surgery to E! News, admitting, “I went from having an insecurity that I didn’t have big breasts to now looking like a porn star.”
Nicole Kidman
Despite Kidman’s changing face, the actress has denied undergoing any major procedures. She publicly said, “To be honest, I am completely natural. I have nothing in my face or anything.” Then added, “I did try botox, unfortunately, but I got out of it and now I can finally move my face again.”
Kidman accredits her tight and perfect skin to wearing sunscreen, using good products, and not smoking. Though some plastic surgeons speculate that she’s done more than that. What do you guys think?
Kathy Griffin
Comedian Kathy Griffin wasn’t laughing when she had a bad experience with liposuction. After that botched surgery, she decided to change her mindset when it came to cosmetic enhancements.
She realized that she was focusing on trying to look perfect as opposed to focusing on her craft. According to Griffin, “I am a comedian. I’m not on the runway in Milan. Believe it or not, people don’t come to see me really thinking I’m going to look like Jennifer Aniston.”
Yolanda Hadid
The mother of today’s top models has greatly suffered for the price of beauty. Hadid’s Lyme disease took over her life, and soon, the former model chose to leave The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to focus on getting better.
During her recovery, she discovered that her breast implants had leaked and had to undergo intensive corrective surgery as a result. Hadid didn’t stop there, as she decided to remove her body of all enhancements.
Melanie Griffith
Actress Melanie Griffith didn’t realize how botched she was looking until people started asking her directly about what cosmetic procedures she’d done. Griffith recalls that time of her life was very hurtful, and she decided to change doctors as a result.
The good news is her new doctor was able to dissolve all the filler and botox she had gotten injected with. When asked about the current state of her face, the actress was optimistic — “hopefully, I look more normal now.”
Hollywood is a place where perfection is welcomed. With that kind of pressure, many celebs turn to cosmetic procedures to help enhance their already good looks. From Khloé Kardashian to Bella Hadid, we’ve curated a list of your favorite celebrities who went under the knife (or needle) and then regretted it.
