Katy Perry recently took to Instagram to playfully tease her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, about his apparent lack of aging. In a video using an aging filter, Perry looks older, with wrinkles and 50 years added to her appearance, while Bloom remains unchanged. This occurrence didn’t annoy the singer, who preferred to see the funny side of it.
Aging Filter Didn’t Work on Bloom
The lighthearted video was shared by the singer on July 30th. The aging filter gave the 39-year-old singer a much more mature appearance and added about five decades to her visible age.
Surprisingly, the filter did not affect Orlando Bloom, prompting Katy Perry to humorously comment that the filter must not work on “elves or pirates,” jokingly referencing Bloom’s iconic characters, Legolas from Lord of the Rings and Will Turner from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
Perry’s Special Bond with Her Daughter
The background of the video featured Perry’s upcoming single “Lifetimes,” which was inspired by her and Orlando Bloom’s daughter, Daisy Dove. At a recent album listening event, Katy Perry shared that the heartfelt song is a reflection of the deep bond she shares with her daughter. She explained that the lyrics are inspired by the ritual she and Daisy have. Each night, before Daisy goes to bed, Perry and her little daughter express their love for each other and affirm their connection in every lifetime.
“Lifetimes” was released on August 9th and will be part of Perry’s upcoming album 143 which is scheduled for release on September 20th. The album is highly anticipated by fans as it promises to showcase Katy Perry’s personal and emotional journey, including her experiences as a loving mother and her evolving relationship with Orlando Bloom, who seems to defy the passage of time, elf and pirate or not.
