The season two finale of Euphoria left fans with a maze of plots and twists that left them scratching their heads with confusion. And while season three was supposed to come out in 2024, strikes and busy work schedules meant that delays were inevitable. So what’s the status of the show as of now?
Season Two of Euphoria
Throughout season two, the producers of Euphoria hinted that Fez, played by Angus Cloud, would meet his demise, much to the consternation of most fans. However, it soon proved to be false, as it was his younger brother Ashtray, played by actor Javon Walton, who met his death in a way viewers didn’t see on screen.
In a frank interview, Cloud talked about how his Euphoria character would deal with the death of his younger brother and how much living he had left to do that was cut short by his untimely demise.
Plans for Season Three
Characters Maddy and Cassie, played by Alexa Demie and Sydney Sweeney, are going to explore their previous friendship in season three. There is said to be a surprise plot twist that will time-jump the characters out of their high school setting.
Levinson plans to create a plot that is set further in the future and shows how the character Rue, played by Zendaya, copes with her road to sobriety. But the question on everyone’s lips is whether or not Elliot, played by Dominic Fike, will make a comeback in Euphoria‘s third season.
Waiting to Film
Unfortunately for fans, filming for the new season hasn’t even begun yet. Between Zendaya being so busy, Sam Levinson working on another project, and other issues, the new season has been put on hold.
The crew hopes to see it out by 2025, and fans definitely hope so as well. Everyone needs answers to the burning questions season two’s ending left them with.
