Stephen Collins – Then
Stephen Collins played Protestant minister Reverend Eric Camden. But Stephen was no slouch before moving to the fictional town of Glen Oak, California. He appeared in some huge films in the 1970s, including the Watergate biopic All The Presidents’ Men and the film that launched the Enterprise crew onto the silver screen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

Eric was the patriarch of the family and, alongside his wife, was the glue that held the family together, but all that was about to change…
Stephen Collins – Then
In 2014, Stephen Collins’ career ended in disgrace when he confessed to inappropriate behavior against multiple minors in the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. Although the police could not corroborate the claims, the Yogic Flying actor admitted the crimes in a People magazine interview.

Collins released an apology, stating: “I deeply regret the mistakes I’ve made and any pain I have caused these three women. I admit to, apologize for, and take responsibility for what I did.” His wife of 30 years, Faye Grant, left him soon after.
Catherine Hicks – Then
Catherine Hicks played Annie Camden and was another acclaimed actress when she joined 7th Heaven in 1996. Although she played the family matriarch, she’d once been the epitome of glitz and glamour, having been nominated for a Primetime Emmy for playing Marilyn Monroe in the 1980 TV movie Marilyn: The Untold Story.

She also appeared in Peggy Sue Got Married, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, and went up against Chuckie the maniac doll in the horror film Child’s Play.
Catherine Hicks – Now
While working with homicidal doll Chucky in 1989, she met special effects make-up artist Kevin Yagher on the set of Child’s Play. They fell in love and married in 1990, and two years later, they had a daughter named Caitlin.

Catherine has appeared in TV movies like A Christmas Reunion and Honeymoon From Hell. She took a break from acting in 2016 but voiced a character in JJ Villard’s Fairy Tales in 2020. Hicks has said she would only sign on for a 7th Heaven revival if the producers wrote out Stephen Collins’ character.
Barry Watson – Then
Before actor Barry Watson played Annie and Eric’s eldest child, Matt Camden, he appeared in Baywatch. 7th Heaven picked up when Matt was in Junior High School. Yet, while Matt wasn’t always a model student, he did win an internship at the White House working for the real-life First Lady!

The Camden kids forged unbreakable bonds while filming the show, and Barry remains in close contact with many of his cast members, particularly his on-screen siblings.
Barry Watson – Now
Barry has been a busy bee in his career and personal life. He’s starred in many TV roles — including Gossip Girl, Samantha Who?, What About Brian, Hart of Dixie, The Loudest Voice, and 2022’s Naomi. He’s also been married three times. His first wife was Laura Payne-Gabriel.

His second wife was Tracy Hutson, with whom he had two sons, Oliver and Felix. Then, in 2012, Barry and Natalie Wood’s daughter Natasha Gregson Wagner welcomed a daughter with Watson. They married two years later. Sadly, that’s not Happy the Dog!
Jessica Biel – Then
Jessica Biel played Mary Camden, the eldest daughter and the black sheep of the Camden family. The basketball-loving character had a string of dodgy boyfriends, was arrested for vandalizing the school gym, and ended up moving to Florida and then Puerto Rico to escape the Camden family!

Jessica is the most famous member of 7th Heaven‘s cast. She went on to star in Stealth, The Illusionist, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, The A-Team, New Year’s Eve, Total Recall, and Hitchcock.
Jessica Biel – Now
Jessica’s also famous for marrying former NSYNC singer and global pop phenomenon Justin Timberlake in Italy in 2012. They had their first son, Silas, three years later. In 2019, the famous couple were rumored to have marital problems after Justin was spotted holding hands with his Palmer co-star Alisha Wainwright.

But the power couple bounced back and welcomed their second son, Phineas, in 2020. Jessica’s recently starred in the mystery series The Sinner and the true-crime drama miniseries Candy for Hulu.
Beverley Mitchell – Then
Beverley Mitchell has been acting since she was nine years old. She first appeared in the sitcom Big Brother Jake. After appearing in the fateful 1996 movie The Crow: City of Angels as a 15-year-old, Beverley Mitchell originally auditioned for the role of Mary Camden in an exciting new family drama.

Beverley didn’t get the part, but then she read for the part of melodramatic middle sibling Lucy Camden. She landed the role, and the rest is history.
Beverley Mitchell – Now
Since the exciting new daily drama ended, she has appeared in films and TV shows, such as the low-budget horror flick Get Out Alive, and playing herself in Hollywood Darlings. She was most recently seen in 2021’s Uploaded and Blood Pageant. Beverley married Michael Cameron in 2008, and they have a son and two daughters.

They tied the knot in Ravello, on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, and her 7th Heaven castmates Jessica Biel and Mackenzie Rosman were her bridesmaids. Now we know where Jessica got the idea of an Italian wedding!
David Gallagher – Then
David Gallagher became an actor and model when he was just two years old! By the time he was eight, he had a recurring role on the soap opera Loving and played John Travolta and Kirstie Alley’s kid in Look Who’s Talking Now.

On 7th Heaven, he played Simon, Camden’s fourth-oldest child, natural entrepreneur and magician. During the pilot episode, Simon prayed for a dog, and one miraculously showed up in the yard. That pooch became Camden’s beloved hound, Happy.
David Gallagher – Now
Since 7th Heaven closed its pearly gates, David’s acted in Smallville, The Vampire Diaries, Criminal Minds, CSI, SWAT, and J.J. Abrams’ 2011 underrated Spielberg homage sci-fi thriller Super 8. He also provides the voice of Riku in the Kingdom Hearts video game series.

In his personal life, the lucky fellow dated future Transformers star Megan Fox in the early noughties and is currently dating bubbly, blonde Arkansas model Jillian Grace. Here he is with Mackenzie, Catherine, Beverley, and Barry. David’s the bald one!
Mackenzie Rosman – Then
Mackenzie Rosman played Annie and Eric Camden’s youngest daughter, precocious, horse-loving Ruthie (pictured top left). When the series began, she was in kindergarten and by the time the show ended, she had graduated high school a year early at 17.

While Ruthie was as bright as a button, she didn’t get an internship at the White House! After the show ended, she reunited with 7th Heaven creator Brenda Hampton, playing Zoe on another of Hampton’s many TV shows, The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
Mackenzie Rosman – Now
Mackenzie’s busiest year was 2013; she co-starred in the horror film Beneath and the TV movie Ghost Shark and posed for Maxim magazine’s September issue. Just like Ruthie, the actress is a horse lover and lives with her many cats, dogs, chickens, goats, and horses in West Hollywood.

In 2022, Rosman had a daughter. When she’s not with her kid, she rides a horse called Mentos Junior in competitive equestrian show jump events and helps several Cystic Fibrosis and vulnerable children’s charitable organizations.
Nikolas and Lorenzo Brino – Then
It turns out that television children are like buses — you wait for ages for one bus, and then two buses arrive at the same time. In fact, make that four buses! Just when Annie Camden thought she’d stopped popping out babies, she had twin boys.

But in real life, David and Sam were originally played by real-life quadruplets Lorenzo, Nikolas, Myrinda, and Zachary Brino. However, when the Brino quads started aging and looking slightly different, Lorenzo and Nikolas (bottom, middle) took over the roles of Sam and David.
Nikolas and Lorenzo Brino – Now
After 7th Heaven, Zachary Brino appeared in just two episodes of the TV series What About Brian in 2006. Tragically, his brother Lorenzo was taken way too soon, aged just 21.

At 3:05 a.m. on the morning of March 9th, 2020, Lorenzo passed away after he lost control of his Toyota Camry in his hometown of Yucaipa, San Bernardino County, California. His car collided with a utility pole, taking his life instantly. Rest in Peace, Lorenzo.
George Stults – Then
George Sheehy Stults played Kevin Kinkirk on the show. His character was a police officer who ended up marrying Lucy Camden. Before being cast as Kevin in 2002, George was a model advertising Liz Claiborne’s fragrance for men, Bora Bora.

As an actor, he’d appeared in two of America’s most loved sitcoms, Friends and Will & Grace. In the show, Kevin’s younger brother, Ben Kinkirk, was played by George’s real-life younger brother, Geoff Stults.
George Stults – Now
Since his turn on 7th Heaven, George has starred in the 2007 sci-fi horror movie Night Skies and the 2010 psychological thriller Necrosis. However, in the last decade or so, the self-confessed actor, animal activist and professional jokester has fallen down the Hallmark rabbit hole.

Nowadays, he mainly appears as the male romantic lead in a plethora of twee Christmas-themed movies. Hey, don’t knock it… at least he has enough seasonal acting work to buy his tigers Christmas gifts every year!
Maureen Flannigan – Then
Maureen Flannigan was discovered by an advertising agent from Mattel while on the beach with her father. Her TV debut came in on Highway to Heaven. Two years later, she played half-alien, superpowered teenager Evie Ethel Garland on the fantasy sitcom Out of This World from 1987 to 1991.

On 7th Heaven, she played Shana Sullivan, one of Matt Camden’s girlfriends, who eventually leaves California to attend New York University. Matt and Shana tried to keep dating, but as you probably already know, long-distance relationships always fail.
Maureen Flannigan – Now
Since graduating from New York University, Maureen appeared in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, ER, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Starved, Close to Home, Kindred: The Embraced, and 90210. On stage, she appeared in Macbeth and The Crucible. On the big screen, she appeared in Teenage Bonnie and Klepto Clyde, National Lampoon’s Last Resort, and Homecoming.

Most recently, she appeared in Do Not Disturb, which she also co-produced. That’s because nowadays, Maureen is a successful documentary filmmaker and runs her own production company.
Adam LaVorgna – Then
Adam Lavorgna also started out young. Aged 12, he won the 1993 Youth in Film Best Actor Award for playing Nicholas Scamperelli in the 1950s-set sitcom Brooklyn Bridge. In 1998, the 17-year-old appeared in I’ll Be Home for Christmas opposite fellow teenager and future 7th Heaven star Jessica Biel.

When he joined the cast in 1999, Adam played Robbie Palmer, Mary’s (Jessica Biel) troubled ex-boyfriend who moves into the Camden family home.
Adam LaVorgna – Now
Just like his character Robbie Palmer, actor Adam LaVorgna was troubled. He left the show in 2002 after having a hard time dealing with his fame in Hollywood. As happens to so many young actors, he developed substance issues and went to rehab several times.

Adam moved back to his native East Coast and spent his time away from the limelight. However, he resurfaced in December 2023, posting a photo and message on Instagram saying he’d been hospitalized for three weeks in the fall. We wish you well, Adam.
Tyler Hoechlin – Then
Hunky Tyler Hoechlin played 7th Heaven’s Martin Brewer, who followed Ruthie home one day and seemingly never left the Camden family home! Toward the end of the series, Martin declares his love for Ruthie, leaving her to choose between Martin and T-Bone.

Ultimately, Ruthie decides to be with T-Bone, leaving Martin heartbroken. But in real life, it was a different matter. While appearing on the show, Tyler and the actress who played Ruthie, Mackenzie Rosman, were romantically linked for a year or so around 2005.
Tyler Hoechlin – Now
Tyler starred in Sam Mendes’ prohibition-era crime drama Road to Perdition, played werewolf Derek Hale on Teen Wolf, and Superman in The CW’s Superman & Lois and Supergirl. And it turns out Tyler is a bit of a Superman when it comes to the ladies!

He’s dated singer-songwriter and fellow 7th Heaven actress Ashlee Simpson, The Vampire Diaries actress Candice Accola, and Glee star Rachele Brooke Smith. Pause to take a breath… He also dated Pitch Perfect actress Brittany Snow, Teen Wolf colleague Jill Wagner, German model Alena Gerber, and sizzling Australian model Monika Clarke. Lucky boy!
Ashlee Simpson – Then
Between 2002 and 2004, a fresh-faced young actress named Ashlee Simpson played Cecilia Smith. Before that, Ashlee had been a backup dancer for her more famous elder sister, singer-songwriter Jessica Simpson, who had recently married Nick Lachey and was starring in a show of her own called Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.

When Cecilia moved to Glen Oak, California, she became Simon Camden’s girlfriend and an extended member of the Camden family. However, she then dated Martin Brewer, played by Tyler Hoechlin, whom Ashlee dated in real life.
Ashlee Simpson – Now
Ashlee left 7th Heaven to record her debut studio album and became the star of a spin-off reality series, The Ashlee Simpson Show. She went on to achieve great success, recording three albums, playing Roxie Hart in Chicago, and joining the revamped Melrose Place.

She married Fall Out Boy band member Pete Wentz and had a son, Bronx Mowgli — who presumably lived in an urban jungle — before divorcing in 2011. After retiring from music, she married actor and musician Evan Ross-Næss in 2014 and had two children, Jagger Snow and Ziggy Blu.
Rachel Blanchard – Then
Rachel Blanchard played Roxanne Richardson, Kevin’s work partner at the local cop shop. Lucy starts out being really jealous of Roxanne, but they eventually become close friends. After two years, Roxanne departed the show by joining the US Army and being deployed to Iraq.

In real life, Canadian actress Rachel Blanchard made her acting debut in the edgy Canadian children’s shows The Kids of Degrassi Street and the less edgy The Littlest Hobo. She went on to play Sally on the hilarious HBO show Flight of the Conchords.
Rachel Blanchard – Then
Rachel went on to play Nancy in the brilliant British comedy Peep Show and Joelle in the less brilliant Friends spin-off Joey. She also played Cher in TV’s Clueless and Kitty Nygaard in the first season of the Fargo TV show. More recently, she appeared opposite Jason Priestley in Call Me Fitz.

Most recently, she played Susannah in The Summer I Turned Pretty and Kristin Peterson in the 2022 erotic psychological thriller Deep Water. In real life, Rachel is married to uber-talented American composer and multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Turner.
Jeremy London – Then
San Diego native Jeremy London portrayed Chandler Hampton, a minister who fills in for Rev. Eric Camden during his heart bypass surgery and recovery. Chandler loved Glen Oak so much that he stayed in town… and who can blame him for hanging around to date Roxanne Richardson?

Prior to his arrival in Glen Oak, actor Jeremy had recurring roles in the shows Party of Five and I’ll Fly Away. He also played T.S. Quint in Kevin Smith’s 1995 slacker comedy cult-classic Mallrats.
Jeremy London – Now
Jeremy has since appeared on Crossing Jordan and MacGyver, but his personal life is much more interesting than his acting career. He had a son with his wife, Melissa Cunningham, before divorcing. Then, in 2010, in a storyline like something out of a soap opera, Jeremy claimed four men kidnapped him in Palm Springs and drove him around for 12 hours.

Six months later, he appeared on Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew. He got his life back on track, married Juliet Reeves in 2014, and they have one son, Wyatt.
Sarah Thompson – Then
Before playing Simon’s fiancée, Roseanne “Rose” Taylor, from 2005 to 2007, actress Sarah Thompson was known for playing Eve opposite David Boreanaz in Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off Angel plus The Ice Storm and Cruel Intentions 2.

Introduced in the finale of 7th Heaven’s ninth season, Rose went on to pressure Simon into proposing marriage and became one of the show’s most unpopular characters. Even Reverend Eric and Annie Camden found Rose selfish, rude, and inconsiderate, and you’ve gotta be pretty terrible to get on their wrong side!
Sarah Thompson – Now
After causing havoc in Glen Oak, Sarah Thompson appeared in the TV shows Without a Trace and House and the beloved soap opera All My Children. On the big screen, the Los Angeles-born, Barnard College-educated actress appeared in the horror movie Babysitter Wanted, Hansie, Brooklyn’s Finest, and the Bollywood movie Raajneeti.

In her personal life, Sarah married multitalented actor, singer, producer, and screenwriter Brad Kane in July 2007. The couple have two daughters together. We hope they found a better babysitter!
Haylie Duff – Then
Actress and singer Hilary Duff’s big sister joined the cast of 7th Heaven in its 10th season in 2005. Haylie Duff played Simon’s fiancée and Rose Taylor’s best friend, Sandy Jameson.

Before moving to Glen Oak, the young actress had already appeared on shows like American Dreams, Joan of Arcadia, and Lizzie McGuire — the latter of which starred her more famous sister. However, Haylie is perhaps best known for playing Summer Wheatley in the 2004 sleeper hit comedy Napoleon Dynamite.
Haylie Duff – Now
Haylie Duff has since played mean girl Amber Von Tussle in the Broadway production of Hairspray, recorded music with her sister, appeared in The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Material Girls, and reprised her original role in the Napoleon Dynamite TV series.

In 2012, the avid food blogger started her Real Girl’s Kitchen blog, which the Cooking Channel made into a TV show. In 2013, Haylie released her first book, The Real Girl’s Kitchen. Four years later, she started her own children’s fashion line, Little Moon Society.
Chaz Lamar Shepherd – Then
Chaz Lamar Shepherd played Reverend Morgan Hamilton’s eldest son, John. He stays with the Camdens after his family’s church is burned down and shares Matt’s room, while his sister, Keesha Hamilton (Gabrielle Union) rooms with Lucy.

Before lodging with the Camdens, Chaz played Artis Tower in Steve Harley’s ABC sitcom Me and the Boys and Al Bryant in the 1998 NBC miniseries The Temptations. He rose to fame playing Michael Jackson in The Jacksons: An American Dream and also appeared in The Nutty Professor!
Chaz Lamar Shepherd – Now
After growing too big to share a room with Matt, Chaz became a major Broadway star, playing Harpo in the 2007 Broadway production of The Color Purple, portraying Curtis Taylor Jr. in a nationwide tour of Dreamgirls, and playing Billy Flynn in the 2018 Broadway production of Chicago.

Chaz, Tyrese Gibson, and Tank formed the R&B group TGT — releasing their Billboard R&B Albums chart debut LP, Three Kings, in 2013. More recently, you might have seen Chaz in Blue Bloods or portraying Raymond “Piranha” Jones in Marvel’s Luke Cage.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen – Then
Over the years, 7th Heaven has featured many famous guest stars, from R&B legend Usher to NSYNC singer Lance Bass, and Olympic gold-winning figure skater Tara Lipinski to actresses Kaley Cuoco, Keri Russell, and Yvette Nicole Brown. But who remembers tuning into season five’s eighth episode, “Gossip,” to see Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen?

It turns out Ashlee Simpson isn’t the only famous Ashlee to live in Glen Oak. The famous twins had a short stint playing rebellious sisters Carol and Sue Murphy.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen – Now
Since making their debut on Full House, the twins took over the airwaves in the 1990s and 2000s with a host of reality TV shows and guest appearances, even voicing themselves in an episode of The Simpsons. The girls retired from acting and started their own fashion company, selling boho chic clothing.

Mary-Kate married Olivier Sarkozy in 2015 but divorced him in 2020. Three years later, Ashley welcomed her first child with her husband, Louis Eisner. Between them, the Olsen twins are worth $500 million!
Happy the Dog – Then
Happy is the Camden family’s beloved family dog and the unsung hero of 7th Heaven. She made her debut on the show’s pilot episode, “Anything You Want,” when fourth-born Simon prays for a dog…

But whaddya know? Simon’s prayers are answered when a stray dog shows up in the front yard! Simon and Happy form an instant bond, and the pup went on to become one of television’s best-ever canine sidekicks.
Happy the Dog – Now
Happy the Dog’s real name was also Happy, and Simon’s four-legged friend was one of the hardest-working actors, appearing in all 243 episodes! When the cast of 7th Heaven reunited in March 2024, Beverley Mitchell, Barry Watson, David Gallagher, Mackenzie Rosman and Catherine Hicks all showed up.

Stephen Collins wasn’t invited for obvious reasons. But the most beloved star missing from the 7th Heaven reunion was Happy the Dog. Sadly, the lovable terrier passed away in 2010 after 15 happy years. That’s 105 in dog years! But eventually, all dogs go to heaven… 7th Heaven!
Teen series 7th Heaven first aired on The WB/CW in August 1996 and ended its run in May 2007. For more than a decade, devoted fans followed the trials and tribulations of the Camden family — Reverend Eric and Annie Camden, their huge brood of children, and Happy the Dog. So, join us as we look back at the cast and discover what they’re up to nowadays.
